Working with your School

How we can work together

The principles of Skills to Shine are well established within the schools we support and work in partnership with, and over the years we have developed fantastic working relationships with both schools and teachers.

Having Skills to Shine work in your school is very simple; we take care of everything all you need to do is supply the young people!

Skills to Shine offer both Curriculum Projects or Extracurricular projects

We offer our services all year round, however the Summer term is particularly busy and gets booked up in advance so please contact us regarding availability.

We offer the enterprise project to schools in Northumberland which is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund which supports young people at risk of disengagement in education.

Our performance evaluation for 2016 shows the positive impact that our programme can have on your young people. Performance Evaluation 2016

What are the Costs?

Our cost can be structured in various ways to meet the needs of your school and students.

Parents pay for their children to attend holiday clubs or after school clubs. Sample booking systems can be viewed here. This gives schools the opportunity to offer curriculum enhancement without the cost.

Each year Skills to Shine raises sponsorship from local and national businesses to enable schools to take part in our programmes. Schools can also raise their own sponsorship through parents and community links to help cover costs.

Schools pay directly for Enterprise Challenge Weeks which can be developed to fit with collapsed curriculum or within core curriculum time.

We receive funding from the National Lottery (UK), the Edge Foundation and the Department for Education which can help to cover the cost for young people at risk of deprivation and disengagement in Education.
